Titanfall 3 announcement trailer at The Game Awards 2023

Hi Titanfall fans! Welcome to the blog post from Respawn Entertainment and Gravity Well about Titanfall 3!

Titanfall 3 has been announced at 2023 The Game Awards and it is scheduled to release in the end of the year or the first day on the new year. And we made a breakthrough in Titanfall 3's campaign and PvE modes as well as the addition of offline modes, thanks to AI for enemy Pilots being implemented once and for all this time.

Making enemy Pilots on foot a reality in campaign and Frontier Defense[]

At 00:45 timestamp, you can see that cut enemy Pilot AI (which was being added to Titanfall 3 this time) being shown in animation reel video for Titanfall 2

We all know that making the AI for Pilots on foot is very difficult to make and execute it well without resorting to scripted moments (which Respawn already did in Titanfall 2 campaign), which we don't want since it is a vital combat puzzle (alongside Pilot vs. Titan and Titan vs. Pilot combat scenarios in campaign) that we want to add it into the campaign since it was missing in previous Titanfall single-player campaign.

Fortunately, we finally made a breakthrough; the Pilots on foot as an enemy type has been implemented into campaign and PvE modes. However, our approach is using the enemy/NPC AI from other games as a reference point, particularly Ceph Stalkers from Crysis 2, Elites from Halo: Reach, and Spartan bots from Halo Infinite multiplayer and adapting it to Titanfall's gameplay mechanics, to save time from making it from scratch without using reference points we gathered from other games.

We studied these particular enemies' AIs from other games to create the starting point for AI for enemy Pilots on foot in our Titanfall game. After studying these, we know that Ceph Stalkers are known for their wall-running abilities, Elites from Halo series for their tactical maneuvers, and bots from Halo Infinite multiplayer for their human-like behaviors and we incorporated such diverse behaviors by combining all aspects that we mentioned before could make the Pilots on foot in Titanfall 3 less predictable and more varied as we want.

We used the AI of from as a starting point and it to fit into Titanfall gameplay.

We used the AI of Ceph Stalkers from Crysis 2 as a starting point and adapt it to fit into Titanfall gameplay.

For example, the AI of Ceph Stalkers from Crysis 2 that we used as a reference is adapted to make it wallrun for much longer time, replaces long jumps and leaping with double-jump, and competently use any weapons, as well as incorporating the aspect of other enemy AI from other games as reference point, like the ability to use tactical abilities and pick-up weapons from the map (which is a reference to Spartan bots from Halo Infinite multiplayer), and general tactics (borrowed from).

Also, there are classes, in which the AI behavior is different for each class, in terms of how they use their weapons, equipment, grenades, and movement techniques even if a Pilots of a different class uses exact same loadout from another class.

We also apply it to multiplayer to add offline mode[]

By successfully implementing the AI for Pilots on foot, we also add it to PvP multiplayer as bots for offline mode in order for newbies to learn it without having to play with actual players on the most casual modes. However, there are differences from the campaign counterpart to make it fair just like bots from Halo Infinite multiplayer; there are no specific classes and the AI behavior is more of mimicking the actual players at the surface level similar to aformentioned thing from Halo Infinite multiplayer.

About the supposed Titanfall 3 reveal[]

You see, the supposed Titanfall 3 worldwide reveal was obviously fake as we released Titanfall 3 ahead of the supposed date for reveal and the video itself, and in-addition to that, it has sound effects on the trailer that makes no sense; the dramatic sound effect from calling Slenderman or something like that at 3am we seen this before on YouTube played before the Titanfall sound effect is heard from the video

Do you think that Titanfall 3 being revealed at 27th October this year? Probably not, it is just a random guy called The Frontier Militia (which might infringe on copyrights of our game) on YouTube, and recently, this channel featured other two channels (Hammond Robotics and ARES Division) using our stuff from Titanfall 2 without permission, so this makes we think that the other two are sockpuppets of the aforementioned troll channel on YouTube, and we don't approve that.

Also, October 27th rolls out and Titanfall 3 didn't get announced because we actually planned Titanfall 3 to reveal at The Game Awards 2023. Of course, the October 27th this year that the supposed "reveal" videos mention is just a day away from Titanfall 2's 7th year anniversary, and guess what, there is no announcement trailer and instead, the very same channel who made this fake video uploaded this and we laughed at it.
