Our stances on AI Slop in game development process[]

A couple of months ago, Activision have been called out for putting AI Slop into Black Ops 6. Also while finding reference points to use in Titanfall 3, we found that using generative AI in the particular way is probably lazy and uninspired as we looked AI Records board of the 05 Command, a staff site dedicated for one of the many sources of reference points we're using, the SCP Foundation.

Our stances regarding using generative AI in development process of Titanfall 3 (and its campaign DLCs and expansion packs) and other Respawn games are to only use AI in brainstorming process and prohibit generative AI elsewhere to not only improve the quality of the game we're working on, but also reduce the risk of developers being accused for being AI Slop. Basically, the rules we set up for using generative Ai is more lenient version of SCP Wiki's rules against AI Slop; allowing use of generative AI where it can actually benefit rather than making it look lazy.

Regarding the art design change in Titanfall 3[]

Subsequent Titanfall games (e.g. Titanfall 2 and w:c:apexlegends:Apex Legends) have its art design changed; making it look less gritty (moreso in Apex to the point it look "cartoony"). However, this has changed in Titanfall 3, with the grittiness of the original Titanfall brought back while retaining the "colorfulness" of Titanfall 2 and also having more art designs that resemble real-world stuffs.
